National Geographic chooses BV for Tours of a lifetime list

Blue Ventures' Madagascar Expedition has been chosen by National Geographic Traveler as one of their choices for 'Tours of a Lifetime: 50 of the world's best trips.'

This special edition from National Geographic Traveler is the second annual list of guided tours which offer readers exciting and authentic travelling experiences.

The magazine is available from the 2nd October.

The Malagasy Cup


A unique event is taking place on the south west coast of Madagascar in October. The Malagasy Cup is a race from Anakao to Andavadoaka (where Blue Ventures is based) for traditional Malagasy vessels, boutry and pirogue/lakarna vezo.
The race will be a spectacular event with dozens of vessels making the 200 kilometre journey in five stages stopping at: Tulear; Ifaty; Salary; Ambatamilo and finally Andavadoaka.

The organisers are seeking participants as well as sponsors for what should be a memorable and dramatic race.

The Madagascar Embassy in London is hosting a Madagascar Exhibition on the 6th October from 2 to 9pm at the Royal Geographical Society in London (more information).

The exhibition is free to attend and is a showcase for Madagascar and the organisations that work there. The exhibition is the perfect opportunity to find out more about Madagascar and its attractions, including its unique culture, and diverse flora and fauna. Madagascar On Thames

Madagascar On Thames takes places aboard HMS President (a ship) moored next to Blackfriars Bridge on Victoria Embankment.
Entertainment will include live performers, DJ's and a free Malagasy BBQ on deck. The party starts at 2:30pm and finishes at 10:30pm.

Facilities include on deck seating and BBQ with views across the Thames, a ball room for the dance and a bar and relaxation area.
